Release - In order to further support the local industry,
TUV Rheinland Philippines, Inc. established its Philippine
laboratory located at Unit 8, La Fuerza Plaza I, Don Chino Roces
Avenue, Makati City to undertake the electrical safety testing.
This is also in response to the call or our government
regulators for more active participation of the private sector
in ensuring consumer protection. The company is equipped to test
and certify a wide range of products for compliance with
national and international requirements. Performing the product
approval at TUV Rheinland laboratory means that all work is done
at the laboratory. All necessary work such as testing,

Government Accredits TUV
Rheinland - Manila Standard ( April 24,2007 ) -
The Department of Trade and Industry's Bureau of Products
Standards has accredited TUV Rheinland Philippines Inc. to
conduct tests on the safety standards of product such as
household and similar electrical appliances and information
technology equipment. Manufacturers and
importers of the products under the mandatory product
certification schemes of the bureau can now have their products
tested at the TUV laboratory in Makati City on the following
standards: IEC 60335 (household and similar electrical
appliances- safety); IEC 60598 (luminaries -general requirements

German Firm To Certify Product
Quality: Manila Bulletin ( April 20,2007 ) -
The Bureau of
Product Standards of the Department of Trade and Industry has
certified TUV Rheinland Philippines as the first international
body allowed to conduct test on products to ensure their quality
meet the international standards.
As this developed as the BPS announced it has developed 5,575
Philippine National Standards (PNS), of which around 77 percent
or 4,310 have been harmonized to appropriate international
standards. Trade Secretary Peter B. Favila said this achievement
is supportive of the Philippine Export Development Plan (PEDP)
and Philippine Medium Term Development Plan (PMTDP) to boost the

TUV Rheinland Philippines,
Inc. (20 July 2005)
Recently,
the Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Product
Standards (DTI-BPS) awarded the certificate of accreditation to
TUV Rheinland Philippines, Ltd.
for successfully passing the requirements for bodies operating
assessment and certification/ registration of
International
Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 – Quality
Management System (QMS).
Under the BPS Accreditation Scheme
(BAS) for Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs), the TUV
Rheinland Philippines, Inc.
has successfully passed the requirements of an international
standard. |
